Indonesia issues technical regulations on cosmetics labeling

On December 30, 2020, the Indonesian food and Drug Administration issued announcement No. 30 of 2020, that is, the technical regulations on cosmetics labeling.

The main contents of the regulations include the scope of application and definition, the general requirements for cosmetic labels (objective, accurate, clear, non inductive claims, etc.), the label elements (including name, purpose, usage, ingredients, country of origin, batch number, and item 11 of warning words), the standard features of each element, the layout format requirements of labels (including language, font, size, height, etc.) The special provisions and exemptions of some product labels, the responsibilities and obligations of manufacturers, distributors or importers for violating the prescribed time sequence, and the appendix also provides examples of specific standard methods and layout formats of cosmetic label content.

The regulation shall enter into force as of the date of promulgation.
